Launch Video Maker vs CapCut templates

Short answer: CapCut is a capable free editor, and its templates are quick when you're making TikToks. For a business launch video, though, read the licence first: CapCut's own agreement limits most of its materials and music to personal, non-commercial use, and its commercial music is cleared only on CapCut, TikTok and TikTok for Business. Launch Video Maker writes the reel from your website, generates the music for it, and lets you use the result anywhere once you have paid, for £9 to £49.

What CapCut gives you
CapCut is a video editor for phone, desktop and web, with a large library of templates, effects and sounds. Its own commercial video page describes the workflow: pick a 30-second ad template, replace the text, music and images, adjust fonts, colours and effects, trim it and set the resolution, with output at 1080p or 2160p.
So what does it cost? CapCut doesn't publish a price list (we looked, from a UK address too). Its help centre says the price of CapCut Pro varies by region, device and promotions, and it is shown in the app. A recent pricing change added a Standard plan and raised Pro's AI points and cloud storage.
Watermarks
CapCut's help centre says templates often include a small CapCut watermark at the end, usually from a default ending clip, and that some advanced templates, effects and stock elements add a watermark on the free version until you upgrade to Pro.
Using it for a business
Can you use it for a business video? CapCut's Materials License Agreement says its materials are for personal and non-commercial use unless they are marked as "Dual Use" for commercial use, and that if a video mixes the two, the whole video is limited to personal, non-commercial use. It says standard sounds are for personal entertainment only, and must not be used to promote a brand or business. "Commercial Sounds" may be used by commercial users, but only in videos shared within CapCut, TikTok and TikTok for Business; anywhere else needs separate permission.
So a launch video for your website, YouTube or LinkedIn built from CapCut's library needs care over which elements and which sound you use. That is CapCut's rule, not a criticism of it (it is their library, after all), and you can always use your own footage and music.
Where CapCut is the better choice
- You post on TikTok often. It's built for that, and its commercial sounds are cleared there.
- You have footage to edit. Phone clips of your product, your shop or your team need a real editor, and CapCut's is good.
- You enjoy editing and have the time. The app is free to start with.
- You like to turn posts round fast. Swapping your words into a template is quick once you know the app.

- The video promotes a business off TikTok. Our music and sound effects are generated for your video, so there's nothing else to license, anywhere.
- You want it written for you. We read your site, list the facts we could use with the page each came from, and use only the ones you approve.
